Describe any challenges or issues that arose during the creation of your timeline and/or Google Map/Story Map. What is the added value of incorporating these types of visualizations? How can you see incorporating these into your final project?
I had so much trouble incorporating the timeline into my omeka it’s not even funny. The timeline would refuse to cooperate and would frequently break and malfunction. The colors wouldn’t match what I was going for or not even show up. I’m not quite sure what was causing these problems but every time i would try to go to the next slide it would show the section in between the slides with parts of each slide peeing through on both ends, but wouldn’t correctly go to the next slide. Eventually i just redid my timeline and that seemed to resolve the issue, and as for the colors I downloaded a color picker chrome extension so I no longer had to painstakingly search for similar background colors. I will definitly add the timeline to my final project, but as for the google story maps, I’m not so sure that it’ll be useful, but time will tell.
